Xavier discovered he loved photography in 1983, after accidentally taking a picture of his thumb. He was born and raised in Montreal and makes Chicago his home. His favorite color is black and so he takes very colorful photos of very dark places. He loves spaghetti and sushi but never at the same time!
Xavier Nuez’s photographs have been featured in museum and gallery show internationally, including the Illinois State Museum in Chicago, IL, the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in California, the Attleboro Art Museum in Massachusetts, and the San Diego Art Institute.
His work is in numerous collections, including those of the Illinois State Museum, the University of Richmond Museum, the University of Michigan, the Norfolk Southern Collection, Mr. Danner DeVito and Ms. Angela Lansbury.
